Addison Wedding
Addison is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 35,914 at the 2000 census. A 2003 recount gave the community a population of 36,378.
The Village of Addison lies on Salt Creek. The community itself was named after 18th century writer Joseph Addison.
Addison is home to two large High Schools, both of which converge students from various neighboring villages: Addison Trail High School and Driscoll Catholic High School, which has won five consecutive state football championships from 2001 to 2005. It should be noted however, that they are a Catholic high school and can recruit the best high school athletes from all over Chicagoland while the public schools they play aganst cannot. This ultimately results in a highly unfair advantage for Addison Driscoll and all high schools in Illinois like it.
The Addison Industrial District was the proposed location for the reconstruction of Comiskey Park before it was voted down.
Larry Hartwig is the mayor of the Village of Addison since 1995. Other elected officials include Village Trustee and Deputy Mayor Rich Veenstra, Village Trustees Sylvia Layne, Harry Theodore, Tom Hundley, Bill Lynch, and Joe McDermott, and Village Clerk Lucille Zucchero.
